Mick, I have just ordered two 2gb Sandisk Extreme III cards from 7dayshop they are 12.99 each.
I did think about getting the newer extreme 5 but I don't think I would notice any difference in write speed so kept to what I know. The other thing I also think is safe to do is buy more smaller ones rather than one large one then if one fails you haven't lost to many photos.
