As someone outside the Canon fold I find it hard to keep up with all the new releases and the consequent strange pricing anomalies.

Well, at least it's a review of a Canon DSLR on DPR. :( What is it now, more than a year since the 1D III came out (if my memory for dates is any good) and they still have not managed to review one? It's a standing joke over on the DPR forums. Makes it pretty hard to take the place seriously.
Still, I'm sure that the 1000D review will be worth a look. Thank's for the heads-up: I'm off to have a look at it.

They have recently reviewed the Canon 40D, 450D, 1000D and previewed the 1D III. I think the users of every camera manufacturer are convinced that they are biased against their particular choice of camera. I know my fellow Olympus users are.
