canon 100-400 or bigma?

I am looking for abit more reach for bird shots and have been considering upgrading to the canon 100-400l or the sigma 50-500,i must say from what i have read, seen and heard so far i am leaning towards the canon but i am still undecided so any views on which lens i should choose would be great.

I have the Canon 100-400 and like it very much. It is reliable and works well in poor light. I have a smaller sigma lens and the Tamron 200-500. To mu mind they are not in the same street as the Canon lens. Although the Tamron has a greater distance capability - the light has to be good!! I don't have this problem with the Canon

I'll agree with you Kim, I have the same two lenses. Another thing with the 100-400 the IS is great for handholding (unless you've had a skinfull the night before)
